Pushed for time

I’ve left it late to get a blog post done, and now I’ve got school pickup, piano lesson, photography club, dodgeball, football and then another football lying in wait for me.

And a dose of loadshedding. At least one.

So please accept today’s post as being this amazing image of Nirvana back in 1993.

Not so angst-fueled here, apparently. More happy days and daisy chains.

It appears that, for this photoshoot at least, they certainly came as they were.

Fragile

Back improvement continues, but there are ups and downs. Today, I’m feeling rather fragile after a mauling by the physio. She did say that I might still be able to play football next Tuesday though, so it’s not all bad.

But I’ve hit a bit of a wall after getting back from taking my daughter to her horse-riding lesson, so I’m going to play it safe and chuck up a QP from the beach on the Easter weekend:

Those are Goose Barnacles clinging to a piece of driftwood: they’ll attach to anything floating in the sea, including turtles, and go wherever the floating thing takes them. But these ones are now stuck on the shore in Suiderstrand, so they won’t be going anywhere else.

Much like me. Except maybe to bed.

Wild Life

Yeah, it’s not. Anything but, actually. We’re all happily lazing around in the Easter sunshine, enjoying doing very little. And that’s just fine.

The dirt road through to town is in such a terrible condition that you wouldn’t want to use it unless you had to anyway, so local is lekker. Cape Agulhas is a diverse, rural municipality, home to some interesting nooks and crannies*, but considering the number of dirt roads it has, to only own one grader seems like a risky move.

The grader is currently in Napier. The road to town, isn’t.

I’m going to have a wander down to the beach a little later, but I’ve been playing with the camera in the back garden here, looking at what’s around and trying to get a few simple shots, like this one.

Or these two:

That’s a Brown Button Spider and a Speckled Mousebird. If one of them bites you, you’ll need medical attention. I’m sure you can work out which one, but maybe just for safety, it’s best that you avoid the nibbly end of them both.
