Not the REM song, but an interesting thought as the UK and the Isle of Man face flooding, while my biggest problem is burning my feet on the way to the fridge to get another beer:
As you can see, it’s another gorgeous day down in Agulhas, and its sad to think that we’re heading home tomorrow – just in time for Sunday’s welcome(?) rain in Cape Town.
Another day in the sun, another wander out to Piet se Punt and the “Blue Lagoon”:
This chunk of driftwood made for a handy marker on the water’s edge at low tide as well as an excellent photo companion for Scoop.
The newly revamped Cape Agulhas Lighthouse is looking superb and we have plans to get up to the top of it later in the week.
Obviously, it doesn’t light up during the day; this was the blazing hot sun, cleverly positioned behind the light by a brilliant photographer.
Before things get messy, just a quick overly-sentimental message from me down here at the Southern Tip. Many thanks to you guys for reading 6000 miles… this year – and especially those who have commented here or on Facebook.
Amazingly, it’s been another record breaking year for the blog and that’s solely down to people like you coming to read my drivel.
So thank you, have a great New Year and a successful and safe 2014. We’ll still be here to keep you company – you know the address.
