The newly revamped Cape Agulhas Lighthouse is looking superb and we have plans to get up to the top of it later in the week.
Obviously, it doesn’t light up during the day; this was the blazing hot sun, cleverly positioned behind the light by a brilliant photographer.
Incidentally, my grandfather was keeper there, and at many other lighthouses across the country. I can’t find a record of his stay at Agulhas, but 1960-64 was at Greenpoint, as recorded here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Point_Lighthouse,_Cape_Town
Jacques > That’s very cool. Sadly, not a lot of documentation available about CAL – even at CAL. And that’s a bit poor, IMHO.
