Another day out in Cape Town

Following yesterday’s excursion to the Waterfront, we took the kids for an altogether more peaceful morning in Arderne Gardens.

If you’re in Cape Town and you haven’t been, make a visit. It’s a little oasis in the hustle and bustle of Claremont. So much so, it’s quite a shock to step back out into Main Road when you leave.

The boy wonder is at a birthday party at Muizenberg water slides this afternoon, so I took the opportunity to drop and go and enjoyed a wander down to Kalk Bay.

The female half of the family is watching FreshlyGround in town. We will have happy, tired children this evening.

When you live in a big city there is always something to do. We’re especially lucky in Cape Town to have such beautiful places on our doorstep amongst those options.

Peaceful weekend

It’s been a peaceful weekend.
This morning, we headed out to the conveniently local Arderne Gardens in the beautiful autumn sunshine to throw some bread at the ducks; this afternoon, we mainly played with a broken Hoover Aquavac 2200. As you do.

I didn’t bother taking any pictures of the vacuum cleaner (and who can blame me?), but I did get a few of the ducks. My particular favourite is this one:

Bigger here

…which, on closer examination, doesn’t actually feature any ducks at all.

Anyway, even if you don’t like that, then you still might want to try clicking here to see the rest of the set, which is generally less “arty” and more “colourful” and does feature several varieties of “duck”. I promise.
