wot no pics

Many of my beagle-eyed readers will have noticed that there has been a dearth of photo uploadage from our recent Eastern Cape trip. It’s not that there aren’t photos: in fact, there are heaps of them. But I’ve been planning to invest in download a decent photo editing program for some time now, and I figured that with some great images of lovely animals, this might be the time to do it.

But last night, there was sleeping to be done. The 5:45 wake up call each morning while we were away was well worth it, but wasn’t conducive to fulfilling the mythical 8 hours per night. Mind you, to be fair, neither was watching the Madrid derby in the Champions League.

I’ll switch on my interwebs this evening, find a suitable program and play with some photos.
I know you’re waiting.

Bus trip

My Dad has really gone to town this evening. Along with a few other United fans.

They’re all there to see the team – Champions of League One – arrive at their reception at the Town Hall.

And here are the lads on the bus from Beautiful Downtown Bramall Lane.

I’m sure that videos and better pics will follow, but all reports thus far indicate that the team (and the manager) may have had a couple of beers in the way up. Oops.

One of those nights that I’d love to be back home – that home. But then, the red wine here is so much better.

Homeward

In which I find myself on a teeny-tiny plane heading back to Cape Town. This is no A380.
It’s actually an Express Jet CRJ200.

And that’s twice as good as a CRJ100. So it’s not all bad news.

Tomorrow’s post will bring photos. As will the following thirty-seven posts, because I took loads and loads.

Right. Now let’s see if this thing can actually fly…

Warthogs from the Bathtub

Hello from a game reserve in the Eastern Cape.

Following on from the infamous Dolphins from the Shower incident at Umngazi, whereby one could stand in the shower and see dolphins, today brought us Warthogs from the Bathtub. Basically, this was when I looked out of the picture window and saw some warthogs while I was sitting in the bathtub.

I’m now chilling with a glass of red wine just outside our room, experiencing a Chacma Baboons from the Veranda moment. I’ll try and fill you in on some more detail about what exactly that is when I have a little more time.
