About to braai…

…but wouldn’t want to miss out on sharing a few pictures from this morning at the Waterfront. It was a visit prompted by half the family volunteering at the Woof Project (including Puppy Duty):

The place wasn’t as busy as you might think and so we had a wander, had a drink or two, had a very nice burger or three, and took a few photos.

If I remember (you can remind me if you want), I want to try something a bit different with one of the pics. But right now, there’s a pile of Kameeldoring turning into beautiful coals, and a nice cold Black Label both awaiting my immediate attention outside.

Oh look out

I’m mostly going racehorsing today, so here’s one from earlier. And it’s a proper ATTENTION! PASSOP! ACHTUNG BABY! of a warning.

Oh noes! Please save us all!

Presumably, this threatened intervention requires the both of the remaining members of the Zimbabwean Armed Forces to source enough petrol to get them to Harare Airport.

But if they manage that – and manage to work out where Iran is – then look out, Donald!

North Downs Nightlife Blues

I caught the end of this track as I leapt into the shower this morning. New band for me, but I’m always happy to try new stuff, especially musically.

There’s a whole album as well, brilliantly titled Dad’s Old Tapes, which I’m going to have to give a listen to.

Nightlife Blues has become the first track added to my Inspired By 6 Spotify playlist this year. My plan for that in 2020 is to get to several more listeners. There’s no financial reward here, but the chance to make people happy by providing access to carefully curated beautiful music. You can assist by sharing the link.

And in theses times of misguided missiles, political instability and all-round worldwide uncertainty, who wouldn’t want to try to help humanity out in that kind of way?

Protea Square

Not the one in… [checks Google Maps]… Port Elizabeth. No, a square protea, taken a couple of days ago on a visit to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens.

This one:

Biological near symmetry and perfection.

I also have a weird panorama from the trip that went horribly wrong in processing but came out “interesting”. I might share that another time though.
