Lucky last

A decent afternoon at the races…

Fun and games, although the betting was going very badly until the very last race.

A last ditch bet on the rank outsider (at 43-1 lol!) in the final run, and – following a 15 minute photo finish analysis by the powers that be –  a result that meant we went home in a positive mood and with a beautifully positive bank balance.

Nice.

Day 409 – Racehorsing

I’m not a gambling man. Except for the golf, obviously. But we went along to the horseracing yesterday, and you can’t do that without a bit of betting.

I didn’t win on many races, but when I did win, I won (relatively) big.

So, after a great afternoon with a lot of laughs and fun, I still came home with more money than I set out with.

And a smile on my face as Sheffield Wednesday got relegated.

It was a good day.

Day 264 – Award winner

Again, not me.

But congratulations to children’s scary book author (300 books, over 350 million sales!) R.L Stine on his third consecutive victory in the annual R. L. Stine Creative Writing Awards:

I have high hopes of at least a top 10 finish in the 2020 Best Blog Post On 6000.co.za Awards, but maybe I’m aiming a little high.
