Reasons

I’m exhausted. It’s been a long, long day. And that’s what life is going to be like for the rest of the run up to our December trip to the UK. Errands, meetings, lunches, braais (so no, it’s not all been hard work) and the delight of mid afternoon loadshedding. And then the extra hour and a half they added on to it. FFS.

I’m going to continue to try and update this blog each day, but given the way things are going, I promise nothing. It doesn’t mean that you aren’t top of my priority list though. It’s just that you share that position with several other things as well.

You know how it is, right?

Dat Update…

After so many promises, I finally found time, internet, energy and inclination to get some photos from the last few weeks up onto the internet. And here’s the link you’ve all been waiting for. *wilting fanfare*

Nothing hugely spectacular, I don’t think – I’m still learning on my new camera – but there are family memories, school stuff, some big cats, occasional wildlife and an inevitable sunset or two.

Or three.

Admin

Apologies for the near radio silence on here at the moment.

I have been working on some stuff behind the scenes here and also struggling under a mountain of admin elsewhere in my life.
Hopefully, it should be all over in the near future. (The admin, not my life.)

Also, I’ve just seen an advert on TV for avantsa.co.za and now I want to buy (at least) one of everything on there. Especially the 700 series, obviously.

More tomorrow.

Going down

Briefly, at least.

Incoming from The Guru – it looks like we can expect some downtime here on 6000.co.za tomorrow:

Your server experienced a service failure recently resulting in the need for us to perform a reboot. As a result, we are scheduling maintenance to perform a manual file system check (FSCK) to ensure there is not data corruption on the hard drives. We do not anticipate the scheduled outage taking more than a couple hours barring major problems being detected by the FSCK. We will be doing this maintenance during the following window:

Start: Friday, August 31, 2012 1:00AM CDT
End: Friday, August 31, 2012 3:00AM CDT

A quick calculation makes that 8-10am SA time.

So don’t panic if you pop over tomorrow morning and we’re not around. We’ll almost certainly be back by mid morning for coffee and cake.

See you then.
