I’m out in the sticks again this long weekend, ahead of a hectic week in the lab, so some relaxation is not a bad idea. Braai done, beer done and brandy in hand, I’m uploading this and then I’m going to hit the sack.
And why not?
Yeah, like I said earlier this week, it’s almost midwinter in Cape Town, but that doesn’t mean that the kids don’t need their exercise.
Thus, we braved the conditions and headed to the cycle paths of Tokai Forest, where we re-enacted the Isle of Man TT as I tried to keep up with the boy, who was in the mood for speed this afternoon.

In lieu of anything else (for the moment at least), here’s a picture of some figs in our garden.
This wasn’t taken today, as the garden is currently inaccessible due to being flooded.

But driving down to Scarborough along the Western Seaboard today, we did stop off at Slangkop for a short snap session.
The waves were a little disappointing, way short of the 42-55 feet we had been promised. But the weather was dramatic, with bright sunshine and heavy squalls fighting for our attention in an icy Atlantic blast.
