It’s a very special day today. Someone‘s birthday.
But unlike here and here, I’m not allowed to reveal any ages.
In fact, I think I’d be in a lot of trouble if I say any more.
So I’ll just say Happy Birthday and leave it at that.
My little boy is not so little any more.
Today is his fifth birthday and that long, dark, chilly day at Cape Town Medi-Clinic seems a long long way back.
We’re very lucky to have such a great son and his sister is very lucky to have such a loving big brother. I guess that basically, what I’m saying here is that we’ve decided to keep him a bit longer.
Happy Birthday, Alex.
Amazingly, my little girl turns 2 today.
I say amazingly, because it seems like only yesterday that she was just 1 year old.
And it seems years since that winter’s day in the Cape Town Medi-Clinic.
Here she is proudly exhibiting her new bike before breakfast this morning.
Happy birthday, K-pu!
My little boy turned three today.
Three days to three years…
I think that on these sort of occasions (and on many others, actually) a little daddy-blogging is completely acceptable.
Despite the best efforts of the weather to ruin the party, a good time was had by all – a great time by many – and by my reckoning, the house will only to a fortnight to repair.
Which really isn’t bad when you consider what could have happened.
Photos to follow – watch this space are here – and since I’m blogging, a big thank you to Ross Wallace of Preston North End, whose last minute free-kick was enough to see off Birmingham at St. Andrew’s this evening and to keep Sheffield United’s promotion hopes very much alive.
