Bloke dies after being ill for some time

A chain-smoking man died yesterday after being ill for some time. The 57 year old man’s career was in acting and he had starred in several films including one about dancing and another one about a ghost.
Some people said they were very sad about the man dying, even though they didn’t really know him at all.

The man’s death follows the sudden demise of another younger man who won an award for a film he was in and which also made some people very sad and, more recently, the death of a middle-aged man who did some singing.

  1. I heard about this guy’s death… thankfully the radio station hasn’t been playing “(I’ve had) The Time of my Life” non-stop since – I’m getting pretty fed up of hearing that middle-aged blokes songs all the time!

PS. Got my Muse album here, and no boss. Guess what I’ll be doing! 😀

PSS. Say “hei” to Morts for me 😉

  2. Joy-Anne > Whoopi.

HH > But twitter will be full of it for days.
Muse sorted – still not got the hard copy, but listening to my iPod and poking TB in the lab.

  3. RIP Keith Floyd.

CHEF Keith Floyd has revealed how he took revenge on a fussy customer by serving him a sautéed beer mat.

Speaking in ITV1’s Confessions Of A Chef, Keith, 63, said: “One particular customer who had a chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce always found something to complain about at my restaurant.

“In those days you had great big beer mats and he asked me ‘what shall I have today?’ I recommended a veal escalope and set to work.

“I immersed a beer mat in egg and flour to make batter and dipped it in bread crumbs and sautéed it.

“Did he complain? No, he said the veal was ‘jolly nice’ but of course then he moaned that the chocolate mousse was runny. I was so pleased that he’d eaten a f******g beer mat.” 🙂

  4. DW > I can’t get the image of Michael Winner as the customer out of my mind.

Heiko > Keith Floyd was a God. He was a pissed cook and that was cool. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

Stan > See – at risk of antagonising a regular commenter… I don’t get that attitude. Yes, Keith’s shows were cool, but he hadn’t done anything new for years and years. But no-one commented during that time how sad it was that he wasn’t around and making drunk cook shows. But when he dies, outpouring of “We’ll miss his shows”. ?hy now? Why not in 2002 (or whenever, I’m not looking it up) when he did his last series?
Same with Michael Jackson. His music had been going downhill since his peak in 1982 and he’d released nothing for years and nothing decent for over a decade. Why are people suddenly so devastated that he’s dead? He wasn’t doing anything worthwhile (and hadn’t for years).
Anyway. Like I said – just an opinion. *ahem*

Delboy > You would never do anything like that, would you?

    Would you?

  5. The Black turned White Minstrel has been gone since June but my damn radio station keep playing his so-say “best” tunes (all five of them) day in and day out. It’s annoying me so much I’ve tuned my DAB to Planet Rock instead! 😀

  6. Never heard of Bristol FM… it’s all “Heart” now… commercial radio at its awful best. I know the morning crew who do the breakfast show, which is the only reason I listen to it. Can’t get Radio 2 in my office… not going to hear Tel give his last goodbye come the end of the year 🙁

  7. I really meant his obituary was sad. As for his shows, they were good at the time, but its not like I’m watching reruns of them all the time. Don’t get me started on Michael Jackson, I never did get him.

  8. Stan > Ah – now you see I do watch reruns of his shows all the time. But I’m not going to get into MJ territory either. That would be Bad.

  9. I was annoyed and upset at MJ dying…I had tickets to see him in July. Pretty extreme way to get out of a gig…Oasis just cancelled!

  10. Dw > Shoosh now.

Little Miss > Hello again! 😉
Meh – I saw Oasis earlier this year. They were very good, but you could see the tension. Bless. It’s for the best. Noel looks about 80.

  11. It’s fine…they’ll be back in a few years when they realise they need the money…just like Crowded House and The Bangles 😉

  12. Ah, Crowded House… another excellent band. I’m off to dig out their tunes on my MP3 player, and have a mini concert in my office – I even have one of their live albums, from a gig at Town & Country in London – I was there earlier this year, to see Watershed.

    *Sigh* I love music 🙂
