Just a quickie to say that if you’re in Cape Town and you can still get tickets for Cirque du Soleil’s Dralion show, do.
You’ll probably want to catch it in Cape Town or Joburg before it heads, in a perfectly logical way, to Venezuela, France and Beirut.
I went along last night, as part of Mrs 6000’s Christmas present – the religious festival that just keeps on giving.
And there are no photos, because I was just too mesmerised to take any. We were continually blown away by the amazing displays from acrobats, trampolinerers (I’m aware that’s probably not a word), clowns, musicians, jugglers and trapeze artists. It was absolutely incredible.
Here’s their preview video – this all actually happened in Cape Town last night.
I was repeatedly made to feel inadequate by the abilities and bodies on display, although I would point out that Grand West gave me a chair for my injured ankle and I balanced my foot on it all evening.
So, yeah, I can do magic.
This isn’t a sponsored post, but it does drop neatly into the 6000 recommends category.
And the recommendation in question is that you make a plan and get to this show.
We’ve seen two of the Cirque spectacles, one in Birmingham and one in Manchester. Both were absolutely mind blowing…
I concur with your recommendation. If you get the chance, go. You won’t be disappointed.
Went to last night’s show and… bloody hell. That’s about all you can say! Utterly amazing and more than worth it.
Would love to see a DVD or something of how they prepare for & create such an event. Huge amounts of sweat, blood and tears I’m sure.
